Dark Souls II: Crown of the Old Iron King Review (Quindarious Gooch)
This is the only Dark Souls 2 DLC that I'm giving a thumbs up, because I felt like although it certainly has its drawbacks, it adds enough new and memorable things to be worth it. For one, navigating the level can be confusing but is more fun due to this. The enemies can be a little dumb sometimes, like the knights that leak lava cumshots, or the exploding barrel guys, but they aren't unbareable. The iron passage is one of the worst things I've ever had to deal with, but I figured out how to run through well enough that it wasn't horrible, and even though the boss was a reskin it wasn't bad. The final boss's bonfire was right next to it, which I personally appreciate as he was the one I died to the most the entire playthrough, but a very fun boss. Challenging in all the right ways. The other optional boss has the second worst runback in the entire game, but I felt like it was worth despawning the enemies to get a fair shot at him. The most annoying thing of the DLC is getting every fragment of the fire woman's soul, but that's completely optional. Overall, the best DLC to come from Dark Souls 2, the only good one IMO.
