Cyber Hook Review (Zawy)
Cyber hook is a platforming grappler style game, similar to the likes of a story about my uncle, its fast paced and has plenty of movement options, making for a energetic experience!
The gameplay is done very well in cyber hook making sure to give player control and still constrain what they can do, the hook allows you to pull around surfaces, the double jump allows for you to control your movement with less power into your movement, the shooting allows you to clear obstacles and the wall running/running allows you to quickly build momentum, all of these are used in conjunction with the levels design to make for some amazingly fun levels to blitz yourself through, it caters to casual players allowing you to simply play through and veterans, with the 3 star times offering extra challenge.
The graphics are absolutely stunning, i have a soft spot for synth/cyber aesthetic and let me tell you this game NAILS the cyber look, but also gets distinguishing elements from one another down too, grapple points are blue/purple, deadly blocks are red/purple, obstacles are green and non grapple blocks are yellow, they all are instantly readable and aid the player in every way possible.
The sound is a weaker point of the game, the sound effects are fine, everything flows nicely with that but while i do like the music, it's only 1 track the entire games levels, it needs some variety to help spice it up and keep things fresher.
Overall was my first grappler game experience and i absolutely loved it, a great introduction to the genre, can't recommend it enough, although there are some grindy achievements which are a bit annoying but not enough for me to not recommend the game!
