Cyber Hook Review (DomLight)
It's fun for a while, but then demands too much perfection.
BTW, if you're going to play it , here's a few tips I learnt before giving up:
- In settings > Speedrunning turn on auto hook release. This will make the experience a lot more intuitive for new players, but give manual release a try as well, both have their uses.
- While in the air (not going down) you lose speed in like a brick sliding through syrup coated grass, always stay hooked while moving upwards, if you have to let go use time warp before releasing to aim for your next target.
- There are two buttons to release your hook: jump and CTRL, jumping cancels your hook and moves you slightly upwards(doesn't consume your double jump), CTRL releases your hook without the upwards momentum. Use CTRL while going down, use jump while going up. (auto Hook release acts like you pressed CTRL when you let go of left click)
- Double Jumping eats speed always try to avoid double jumping, it cost forward momentum to move you upwards. Refer to the point above for help.
- Try to stay on the floor or walls as much as possible, you gain momentum faster while on the floor and walls, you can also make sharp turns on a dime (Just be careful when landing, keep facing the direction you're going until landing, then turn after landing. Otherwise you lose all your speed.)
- Practice sharp turns especially aerial. The better you can do this, the better your times will be by a large amount, because you pick up crazy speed going around corners.
- Search up a guide on how to go fast, trust me there are plenty of techniques that I've probably forgotten to mention and this game DEMANDS perfection. Learn as much as you can if you want those best times or even if you just want to clear some of the later stages... it gets painful.
I didn't enjoy this game since "Skeleton path", kept at if for a while and still didn't enjoy it 8 hours in. Decent game, just wish it was a bit more lenient.
