Cuisineer Review (^w~)

A beautiful designed game that's unfortunately underbaked
Actual Time played. 23.7 hrs -(about 3 days straight)
I play on anther acc. Restaurant lvl 13-15ish.
Overall: Buy the game if you want the restaurant/owning a Restaurant part. You will have fun till you beat it, then drop it and probably never play again after that. Combat will get repetitive and become unsatisfying, killing bosses don't grant you much and not even good gear, plus you'll always have inventory maxed out before arriving to the boss. I'm not gonna review the graphics since that's what all the good reviews are. You also barely get stronger. so beginner dungeons or mobs will still feel like a chore.
Also, I apparently learned that the creators usually make mobile games. The game does have that quality/feel to it, for better or worst.
Extremely Negative: Upgrading/Poweringup; Surely, you think to yourself, after unlocking all these dungeons, I'll be able to get stronger to just sail through the beginner dungeons! No, you could not be more wrong.
All the dungeons will take a long time, because upgrading your weapon at smithy will be like this.
Spatula -> 23->24
It will seriously upgrade it by 1 attack, you will have to wait the next day and talk to her in the upgrade to take it from her. She doesn't even have the decency to mail it to you, smh.
Thinking there will be cool mods to put on your weapon? Nope! Have fun doing the same 3-4 hit combo against those baby chickens, when you think eventually it should be 1-2 hits by now.
And my Smackeral is 5 star, with a 3 star fire mod that enhances dmg by 25% against flame afflicted enemies. So. Yeah. I don't feel a satisfying powerup, or that I got stronger at all.
You get 5 Tries at the brewery before getting locked out on one of the slots, permanently. RNG too, with 0 specific percentages on rate up if you give him a dish. This guy is a bigger scammer than the special trader.
It's expensive, and also RNG to try and test out different builds/mods. Most of the mods won't work unless you first have the application mod, where you can apply the effect.
For now I'll say, Sweeten is probably the worst of the worst. It only makes enemies do less dmg to you, but you don't really need that to begin with because you can roll in this game. These guys are tanky asf, most players are probably going to look for something that does more damage and make them feel stronger.
Fire/Ice is good. Poison, IDK. I tried it, didn't like it. The poison stacking is not explained, because I thought that if they stood on it, it'll stack, right? No, I guess you need a mod on the main weapon that applies poison in order for it to stack, who knows. I can go on a long topic about mods and explanations but i'll stop here, you get the picture.
OVERALL: No satisfying way of feeling like you got stronger, or if you even got stronger. No "Powering up" moment. RNG GACHA brewery, with PERM lock on mods after 5 ish attempts, can't imagine anyone would like that. Mods and Mechanics aren't explained well, extremely vague.
Negative: Difficulty Setting; So because combat was starting to feel like a chore, and I just want to get specific ingredients or breeze through the dungeon, I look at the combat setting. You can choose between 3, normal, less seasoned, bland.
Less seasoned makes enemies do 25% less damage to you, bland, by 50%
I don't want enemies to do less damage to me, I want to kill them in one hit or less hits so I can just do ingredient gathering and run back to my shop.
Extremely negative: Dungeons/Bosses/Chest&Arenas; Dungeons are so big... So much running around, back tracking. Don't forget to hit those vases! I wish it was more compacted and each platform was a small square zone like Cult of the lamb or hades. To really feel like you finished that one part of the area.
Anyways, you'll probably max out in inventory slots at around 2-3 levels. Since the map is so big, and enemies are plentiful. the game gives you 0 incentive to finish a dungeon, and doesn't even reward you well if you do. It just feels like you wasted time. Also, don't die, you'll lose a whole day and almost all the ingredients in your bag.
Arenas are worth it for the enemies, but the chests... oh the chests droppings are so bad. don't be excited, ever. It'll drop bad gear most of the time that you'll probably throw away, maybe 1 chicken leg, 1 ice. Nothing to brag about. Boss-mini boss chests are literally no different from arena chest except for higher leveled mods that are probably on a bad/slow attack speed weapon anyway. I mean don't even get me started, I don't see anyone using the hammer or greatsword as a main weapon because it takes longer to kill with how long the wind up is, also if the enemy isn't biting your ankles while you're still winding up.
Bosses, mini bosses, don't individually drop anything. So don't fight the chicken bosses thinking it'll drop 20 pieces of raw meat or egg, because it won't. Enjoy that terrible chest.
Seriously the mods are driving me so crazy this game, because if you could just take mods out of it and give it to another weapon I would be so happy. But I have to play maplestory/Dragonnest MOD simulator with how RNG this is.

Neutral : Debt
You have 3 Payments to make. I think something around 1k, to 10k,to 70k.
I'm not sure, I'm almost done with the third payment though since i breezed through the first and second.
I'm guessing your debts are the "Story", I don't mind since it follows a lot of similar plots to other games.
If you're expecting something more, don't. A tax payer literally just comes up and tells you, you need to pay X amount.
Slightly Negative; The town: A beautiful small town where you are not going to explore except run to the rotating traders right outside of your restaurant and the furniture dude.
It's not fleshed out, the NPCS that stand the shop don't even eat at your place. I guess they're too special. Oh yeah, boba girls.
Biscotti is apparently your best friend but you talk to NPCS and the shopkeepers more than her. Me personally, I don't care much since i skipped all their dialogue and none of them were interesting to me, but I can imagine if you liked a certain character and were imaging more interaction it might suck.
I will say the only story i was intrigued in is the noble lady and the worker dude, that was funny.
They'll mail you dishes on their birthday, but you'll probably throw it away since you can't sell it, it'll take up inventory space, you can't gift it, or just put it in the back if you really wanted to try your hand at RNG brewery.
Neutral; Game Price: Price is Ok, I would make it cheaper than HADES/Cult of the lamb. In fact, this game is closest to cult of the lamb with both management and gathering materials.
The problem? Those games are just better, literally. I'd even say Mavian Tavern story, or the tavern games are better, because it has a much more fleshed out story, and you can level up. Recetear Item shop, good game as well.
Slightly Positive; Restaurant: I mean, that's why we're all here, to manage a cute restaurant. And you do just that. It's engaging enough for me to like it(as in stand afk and just point and click to make the dish, I don't even need to serve at all because customers walk up and get it themselves), it's satisfying to hear the dough roll in. Somehow nobles don't want to come into my pimped out shop yet, alright.
Couple things to note.
You can't move where your cash register is.
You can't move the counters in your kitchen.
I don't care, but maybe someone out there will.
Negative; Mailbox: Confused, Lost? Don't worry, you will get a letter in your mail a million days later telling you about the Brewery, again not even explaining it, but just that it exist! Poor tutorials and explanations will show up in your mailbox that you would have already figured out yourself, eventually.
Again, you'll get useless presents to throw away. Unless they're smart enough to send you ore and wood.
