Crysis 3 Remastered Review (Flavius Claudius Julianus)

"If you want to play hide-and-seek then SHOW YOURSELF"
-Crisis 3 bad guy
Worst. goon. dialogue. ever.
What went wrong with Crysis? EA got behind it, that’s what.
I love that Crysis 3 makes you feel like an unstoppable force of nature. Like the predator mixed with the terminator. I felt genuinely bad ass as I stalked some cell agents, picking them before blitzing and slaughtering them.
I think the game is pretty fun. The difficulty levels change how you have to play the game. So if you don't want to just be a bullet sponge and have it play like CoD then turn up the difficulty. This requires you to approach fights with some tactics and planning.
Prophet’s character development with the suit and the aliens along with Psycho really takes it home. You can tell how much love and passion went into this game.
I really enjoyed Crysis 3. Played through it multiple times, and I prefer it over the original Crysis. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t really mind the blockbuster movie cliches in video games, I do mind them in movies ironically, but I can have fun playing them in a video game.
Being honest I think the open world nature of Crysis 1 is a bit overrated, and shitting on the linearity of Crysis 2 and 3 is sometimes a bit of unwarranted elitism, and people don’t really give Crytek enough credit for putting effort into a well crafted single player campaign. Or maybe it’s just me that prefers a well crafted linear experience, rather than an aimless open one.
I think a lot of PC gamers are still miffed about the treatment Crysis 2 was given back when it first came out, though frankly I believe it's a load of self-entitlement bullshit. Crysis 2 was an extremely fun game back in the day, as is Crysis 3.
They may not be like the original, but even the original wasn't perfect. My take is, if you take off the nostalgia goggles and useless self-entitlement, you'll have fun with Crysis 3, specially this remastered version.
The remastered version is a visual upgrade over the standard even if it is a small one. The original version of Crysis 3 has performance issues on modern hardware that are basically unsolvable for some hardware configurations unless you resort to playing on Linux.
The Crysis 3 Remaster is generally good. It runs better CPU-wise, it adds much higher quality textures, and it introduces much better reflections. It doesn't have the performance problems of the original version.
The Crysis 3 remaster is overall truly fantastic, the graphics are even more stunning, and I loved how much more immersive New York City felt with all the overgrown vegetation, the soundtrack is amazing, with super fun gameplay and it brings back all the memories from playing the original.
I consider it an underrated gem that didn't deserve all the hate it absorved from Crysis 2. At the end of the day people are going to be very critical about Crysis 3 because they expected something the game doesn't intend to deliver or promise to.
However it is a fun game and I say it's worth picking up on this remastered form. I think the whole remastered trilogy stands as a pretty solid set of shooters that aren’t really as common anymore.
Spent the entire game looking at the grass and not touching it, just like in real life. 10/10 would play again.
