Crysis 2 Remastered Review (Flavius Claudius Julianus)

The intro to this game really is just a recap of 2020.
My favorite line in the game is when the general says “I know things were bad in Korea, but we are in a crisis too!”
You realize the gaming industry as a whole is in a sad state when you catch yourself getting excited for remastered games that came out years ago cause you miss what single story driven games used to be like. Good old solid single player campaigns.
I hate that linear is like a taboo thing in gaming now. Seriously tired of all the bland copy paste open world games nowadays. Exploring to find the same ol’ collectibles isn’t fun anymore.
I will always remember that first moment walking out of the building and seeing the world of Crysis 2. Maybe it’s just the nostalgia talking, but I will forever love Crysis 2 and the magic it brought with it.
It was a very underrated game. Not a perfect game but a worthy sequel to the first Crysis which was amazing. Graphic wise this game is beautiful, the gameplay is addicting and can be intense at times especially when fighting the Cepth (hate those bastards), the levels are big enough to give you several ways of completing objectives using various tactical approaches.
Even though the voice acting is subpar, there is something about the way that the story unfolds that keeps you engaged. The weapons are great, the remaster runs buttery smooth and the plot is not that bad if you played the first Crysis. That and the fact that Hans Zimmer’s score is just so incredible… it just keeps you engaged and wanting to push forward.
Crysis 2 is my favourite Crysis game, with solid story which felt like the old Call Of Duty campaigns, incredible OST and fun gameplay mechanics. A solid FPS that’s just fun, and isn’t that what really matters?
Hopefully the remasters bring in a whole bunch of new Crysis fans because these games are great and deserve to be remembered as more than a benchmark.
So… can you run Crysis?
