Crusader Kings III: Royal Court Review (HRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM)

The changes to culture, the reintroduction of artifacts, and the addition of a new 3D court that players can utilise are all very welcome additions that I would mark as being positive to the game, but it's laughably overpriced.
It's always been well known that Paradox love their expensive DLCs, but come on. Glad to know that the 15+ DLCs this game will inevitably have will all cost the same price or more than some other modern game releases.
Might as well avoid this Paradox DLC wagon - it appears that it may just be the greediest one yet.

EDIT: After playing for a little longer, I can go a little more into the nitty gritty for those wishing for more detail.
-The royal court system is laughably dull. It is spammed with the exact same repetitive events you're likely going to see two to three times per lifetime, most of which will cost an extreme sum of gold. Otherwise, the events seem much more likely to be negative than positive. This is made even stranger by the fact that holding court costs prestige, which usually makes me ignore the 'hold court' mechanic entirely. The brand new royal court 3D scenery is also not utilised for any major activities or events, such as feasts, weddings, or on heir succession, which one would have assumed for an expansion this hyped up would all be properly implemented. There's also no significant motion or intrigue that shows up in the royal court like the trailer seemed to imply. For the main focus of this expansion, what a gargantuan letdown this turned out to be.
-Artifacts are nice. One would have also assumed for an expansion that heavily focuses on the 3d character models having proper representation, that the introduction of artifacts would visually change how characters look, such as crowns, brooches, perhaps armour, etc. But you would be mistaken. I believe weapons might be visible in duels, but AFAIK that's all. Manually having to repair artifacts can also get very tedious when you acquire a large stack of them. In some ways, artifacts have been improved over CK2 - it's easier to acquire artifacts from others as a feudal lord now, rather than repeated raiding and praying that you'll steal something.
-The culture changes are perhaps the juciest part of the DLC. Cultures are now a much more dynamic thing, similar to how you can edit different features of religions, with some world cultures having their own unique traits. This is the one feature that seems to have been implemented rather nicely. But it's also something that you won't be majorly interacting with unless you're a larger nation that has to rule over multiple different cultures.
-*FREE UPDATE* Minor titles are back and better than before. They can however be a pain to micromanage. The cost of having people fill the roles does get pretty expensive, but the passive bonuses of minor titles seems to make up for that. They're a lot more useful to utilise than the CK2 system. People filling certain roles can also appear in certain events, such as your champion being able to fight for you in duels. Very nice to see.

Overall, this expansion seems like someone asked "wouldn't it be like REALLY cool if we have a fully 3d court with our fancy new 3d models? It'll be REALLY REALLY cool and it'll be like you're REALLY there like a real king!!! this is what the people want!!!!" and the developers agreed, paying no heed to depth, integration and failing to properly weave it in to other pre-existing gameplay mechanics. Just because you sunk a lot of time into something does not necessarily make it a stunning 10/10 masterpiece, and neither is this DLC worth its asking price just because you worked on it for a poorly considered length of time.
Paradox, flesh out your brand new hyped-up system that you were insisting would be amazing from your dev previews, and implement it better if you want to demand a clown-tier pricetag.
Buy it for a quarter of the price if you want an OK expansion.
