Crossbow: Bloodnight Review (PJ150)
REVIEW #98
CROSSBOW: Bloodnight
----------
This is a fun single-player arena shooter to pick up and play for a few minutes now and again.
The premise of CROSSBOW: Bloodnight is simple: use your incredibly powerful crossbow to defeat continuously spawning enemies until either you reach the end of the onslaught or you are killed. Leaderboards are ranked by the amount of time survived, creating a goal of staying alive as long as you can. Your crossbow has 3 different firing modes, which implements a need for "think on your feet"-style strategy.
Graphics are good, sound design and controls are good, gameplay is quick and frantic, the Lovecraft-ish style and gothic background music is great, and the game runs very solidly.
Fast, fun, and cheap, this is a fun little diversion to sink a few minutes into now and again. Heck, I'd even like to see this expanded into a sequel.
This is especially recommended for fans of Devil Daggers.
