Counter-Strike: Condition Zero - Deleted Scenes Review (shakespeareanDingo)
pretty fun to mess around with, practically what you'd expect from an FPS from its' time. focusing on the "story" mode (the entire "Deleted Scenes" aspect of this game), it's incredibly reminiscent of the other big contemporary titles, think Delta Force and Ghost Recon, but far more linear and closed. and that's not a bad thing in the slightest! the missions are pretty packed, even for their length. it's definitely a feel-good game, clear cut: you play all over the globe as different operatives for the respective special units (GIGN, Delta Force, Navy SEALs, GSG9, among many others..), and bring down terrorist plots, more often than not saving the day in heroic displays. it becomes incredibly apparent that you're essentially playing through short, linear action movies, and that's the fun of it! it's enough to be a fun little campaign with CS's core elements and some extra things along the way.
pretty soon into playing this game, it teaches you to be mindful that if you think an enemy could fit into a corner, chances are they'll be in that corner. they'll rush around corners as you're backing up, and overall be a little smarter than the bots in a run-of-the-mill shooter. not exceptional, but just enough to influence the way you play
essentially, this game is pretty tight! worth it, since it goes for incredibly cheap during sales and such. brings back a couple memories of being incompetent and not having any idea what I was doing while playing Delta Force on the family computer. :D
