Core Keeper Review (Evzenviel)
I found that this game had a lot of grinding and a slow item progression system, which was fine for the most part.
However, I had a problem with the gameplay between the third boss and the fourth boss. If the developer doesn't rework this section of the game, I think a lot of players will stop playing after beating the third boss. The issue is that the gameplay between these two bosses is just not as enjoyable as it could be, and it can be frustrating for players who are trying to progress through the game.
Additionally, I found the character job feature to be largely useless, despite the fact that it grants additional skill points and items at the beginning. This is because it requires five skill points to unlock new abilities, regardless of your character's job. This means that you'll need to grind for skill points in order to unlock new abilities, which can be tedious and time-consuming. One potential solution to this issue is to adjust the skill point requirements based on the character's job. For example, a miner character might require three skill points for the mining skill and four skill points for the running skill, while a cook or gardener character might require six or seven skill points for those skills. This would allow players to specialize in certain areas and make the progression system feel more balanced and fair. If the skill point requirements are the same for every job, you will eventually reach the same level of progression as other players, which can make the game feel less unique and rewarding. It could also enhance the experience of playing with other people, as players could choose different jobs and work together to progress through the game. I would recommend that the developer consider implementing this change in order to improve the overall gameplay experience.
Despite these issues, the sense of accomplishment that comes with slowly working your way up and unlocking new items may still make the game enjoyable for some players. Keep in mind that this game is still in early access, so there may be additional updates and changes in the future. Overall, if you enjoy games that require a lot of grinding and have a slow item progression system, this game might be worth giving a try.
