Cooking Companions Review (del)
Are you craving something different? Something new? Do you salivate at the idea of a game that'll tickle your taste-buds, give you goose pimples for days, and leave you wanting more more more? (which, once is all said and done, this game will give you in a handy little chompette take-out experience- to say more would to spoil!)
I can't recommend Cooking Companions enough, and this is coming from someone who prefers 'no seasoning' on their gaming experiences - I can't stomach horror usually, but boy does this game expand the palette with ease. A delightfully dark experience to sink your teeth into, you'll start in a cabin- thrown into the pot along with 4 others, tasting the dish that's been lovingly served by the dev team- and you will leave feeling full and satisfied. There's so much to chew on here, I've played through several times and there's still a ton of meat left on the bones, mysterious notes, character dialogue I haven't seen, perhaps even an ending or two I've yet to sample. Belly full, and mind lost in a lovely haze of amazing folklore inspired story & characters, I feel sleepy - as one does after eating a large rich meal - yet the horrors I've witnessed I'm sure will keep me awake!
10/10 - A gourmet experience for anyone seeking a little more spice from their games. Give it a Michelin star!
PS: food puns aside, play it, please. You won't be disappointed. I would also highly recommend 'Dread Weight' the sequel (play this one first!!) which is like a delicious chocolate cake served after this meaty steak. This dev team is something special - please keep an eye on them and their work, they're going places!
