College Kings 2: Episode 1 Review (Sire_Tychus)
First season was free, second season on sale is totally worth it!
I've become more invested into the characters, the episodes themselves are much longer, and the scenes are numerous and pretty good. Definitely have my heart set on doing multiple play through to see how the relationships evolve.
That said, still two notable issues.
For one, having season 2 as a separate game, as opposed to say, Being A DIK (a very similar game, for which seasons are added as DLCs within the same game for better continuity), means that save continuity from season 1 is pretty bad. The option to load a save from season 1 is there, but it doesn't work great as a lot of details are lost; some relationships seem to have disappeared, I won the fight with Ryan in season 1, but it's been hinted that I actually lost it in season 2, so it's not great.
The game does however come with an option to customise your start by selecting relationship statuses with key characters, which is neat in a way, since if you lost your save with certain characters in season 1, you could simply opt to start the game with their specific story lines to immediately get into season 2, but these options also require that you remember very well where you were and what you did in season 1.
So yeah to sum it up, if you come straight from season 1, your save may not follow properly.
Other issue is bugs; mainly when it comes to the phone, using it gets gradually laggy and slow the longer you play, and sometimes the game fails to load the dialogue afterwards, meaning you're essentially stuck until you reload or restart the game. Bit frustrating.
