Coffee Talk Review (wycked)

Welp, seems like I'm in the tiny minority who did not enjoy this game.
I saw people praising it and since I was looking for something short and cozy for a change, I got it when it was on sale. However, whatever all the people who have left positive reviews saw in this game was clearly lost on me.
First, there were no options to pick when it came to dialogue which frustrated me a lot. I get this is a visual novel but I would've wanted to have at least some sort of options to choose from, now it was simply clicking and clicking and clicking while reading dialogue which I could not take any part of in any meaningful way. There are visual novels that offer you choices and I was expecting that from Coffee Talk as well but was sorely disappointed.
Second, the stories to me were simply boring and really did nothing for me so reading through all that stuff was just painful. And here's the thing: I do not not mind reading when it comes to video games. At all. Some of my favourite games ever have massive amounts of reading to be done, so it is not about reading just not being my thing. I probably wouldn't have even minded not having any dialogue options to choose from that much if only the stories were actually interesting enough and written in a way that captivated me, but none of that happened here. I was actually waiting for the game to end because I just wanted it to be over already so I could go and play something else and that tells enough I think.
Third, the coffee making itself was too simple. Just mix three ingredients together and that's it. And even if I got an order wrong which happened a few times, there weren't any consequences, as far as I could tell anyway. Granted, I did not go into this game with the coffee making aspect as my main interest anyway, but since the stories weren't engaging to me and the lack of dialogue options bothered me as well, I hoped at least the coffee making would be interesting. You know, because this game is about a coffee shop. But it was not.
So, long story short, not a game I can recommend, personally.
