Clone Drone in the Danger Zone Review (neek)

Love it, we need more swordfighting games like this one. The game has very simple mechanics, and this simplicity works in its favor - combat is easy to master and is lots of fun. It is very reminiscent of Jedi Academy in how it plays, but more dumbed down. The campaign is very short, and other arena-style fighting challenges are all quite samey. Not sure how much replayability this game has, but it does scratch that itch no other game in the past decade or more has been able to.
As for the negatives - there aren't many, and none bad enough to distract from the fun of combat. The hitboxes sometimes are questionable, or perhaps the game just lacks visual clarity, so it can be hard to understand why your hits didn't land. Some enemies can get close enough to the player that their model starts clipping into the camera, and it's hard to tell where they are and if you're even hitting them. Walking to the upgrade machine after finishing the level and then going back to the arena can feel a little tedious. The worst perhaps is the multiplayer: there *is* a deathmatch mode, but for whatever reason you don't respawn - a death is final, and once you're killed, you have to find another game and start all over again. Waiting over a minute for a match to start, only to die 10 seconds in, is quite frustrating. Skill issue, sure, but allowing respawn would really make it much more enjoyable.
