Cities: Skylines - Content Creator Pack: Modern Japan Review (The Great Linguini)

Buying this pack is a great way to give thanks to a creator in this game's community.
Additionally, buying this pack gets you some neat assets. In the case of this pack, you're getting a bunch of really nice unique buildings that fit great within a Japanese inspired zone of your city and/or office park, additionally you could combine this with some mods to make a nice town set in Japan. You also get a couple of useful service buildings in the same style.
Yeah...So, for those just getting into the game and are unfamiliar, "Unique Buildings" are buildings you unlock and, in the base game without a mod that removes the following restriction, can only be placed once. Using certain mods that either remove the cap or allow you to copy buildings are pretty easy workarounds for this issue; however, not everyone can or wants to mod their game. It is unfortunate that to get the full bang for your buck on this pack mods are somewhat encouraged. That said, mods are pretty engrained into the DNA of this game, and there are a lot of assets you can find that will boost the appeal of this pack.
Still, let's not rely on a third party to sell a product. What is the value here? Well, the actual buildings in this pack are excellently designed. Though they possess plenty of Japanese style and branding, you can certainly plop them down in any number of themes without them feeling too out of place. The office buildings feel particularly good for this. On the otherhand, the more culturally infused buildings, like the temple, are a great way to show a variety of cultures and peoples in your cities. The two service buildings, a General Hospital and a Waste Disposal Unit, are also very useful and realistic looking assets. Their stats are also pretty decent.
All of the assets in this pack look very realistic, and not at all in the old cartoonish style. There's ample parking, interesting and unique signage, and all of the buildings fit together in a cohesive theme.
With all this said, I do recommend picking this pack up either on sale or as part of a bundle. If you even lightly mod your game, you'll get more use out of this pack, but for what it is it remains an interesting addition to the base game.
