Capcom Arcade Stadium: Ghosts 'n Goblins Review (Controle Anti-Imperialista)
It's sad this binary issue of giving "recommended" or "not recommended" review on Steam, it's a bit restrictive. I would like to recommend Ghosts 'n Goblins, but it depends...
I don't think it would be an enjoyable game for most people. The graphics are very interesting, the gameplay is simple but responsive and the soundtrack is good, the problem (and perhaps the biggest feature of the game) is the difficulty. It's not that it's just difficult, it borders the impracticable. I believe this is due to the arcade logic of wanting to take as much coins as possible from the player. If you have the game I propose to you the exercise of playing without the rewind device until the first gameover, you will see how fast it is, mainly due to the enemies, I don't even say that it is a good artificial intelligence, because it is not an artificial intelligence, it's more of an artificial genius, all the enemies have such high accuracy to hit you while they dodge your attacks so easily that it feels like you're the machine and they're the real players.
I think the game is for 2 types of players: 1-Those masochists who want to punish themselves heavily for any reason and; 2-Those who like to preservation and study video game history, because yes, Ghost n' Goblins is one of those games that every video game history lover should at least try (I'm in this second group).
So would I recommend it? It depends, if you want to have fun and de-stress... No. Do you want to punish yourself or study the history of games? Yes. Can I give a non-binary rating? Not yet, I hope that day comes. (Hey Gabe, are you reading this?).
