Brütal Legend Review ({TA} Pvt. Caboose)
If you love your metal (obviously) then you'll love this!
if you dont, then either the story or game play might entice you a bit more and let the music take you on a ride like no other!
Brutal Legend covers all things related to metal, glorious storytelling, travel though the open land of metal and its territory sub genres, build your ride to become the most beastly death machine you've always dreamed, shred solos as your attack and unlock secrets of the gods that have left behind.. and more.
This does come with the old, only a certain fans/listeners will get the puns and jokes along the way, but not important for anything, but just to appreciate the writing, story and characters are a perfect fit.
Characters couldnt have been any more better, such Legends as Rob Halford, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Lita Ford, Kyle Gass and such voice actors in thier own respect such as, Tim Curry, Brian Posehn, Jennifer Hale from other notable video games and other works, ohh and of course, Jack Black as you Badass main guy of course!
What i've mostly found totally awesome about this game is the customisation of not just your sweet Hot Rod Mods, but for the Main Character, Eddie Riggs, which is a nice touch to just have a little of your own character in there. (just a bit) even for your Ride, 'The Deuce'
All in all, its a great game, the only thing i found quite annoying is the "dated" hit boxes or just poorly optimised hit boxes that this game is for, back in 2009 era. so doing such as races, and it gets a bit narrow in some sections, and just "barely" clip into an object, that you clearly missed, welp.. start over again, BUT its not as bad as i make it sound, the second time round is easy.
The story is never a let down nor a dull moment of puns and musical or inspired backstage inside jokes (sort of) but for as simple as it is, you'll love the characters that tie in and help Eddie on his journey to understand whats going on.
for myself as a Metalhead for quite some time, this always has a special place in my heart of the combination of video games and Metal meet, it has my rate of 666/100, nah but honestly, (9/10)
