Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Review (skořicový trdelník)

I remember I hated the controls at first, because I couldn't get used to it, but now I need to admit I really loved this game in the end, even though the ending was too dramatic as for me.
There is nothing complicated about this game and it's completely linear. The plot is simple and short, there is nothing new in it. However, there is still some beauty in simplicity, because I actually enjoyed these few hours.
There is almost nothing to tell about the brothers which are the main heroes given under player's control. They are just two nice and lovely boys with quite interesting interaction. The fact they are different doesn't let you to simply replace one brother with another while playing, and I think it pretty good to know that they both act their roles in team. Almost every object has its unique interaction depends on which brother is interacting with it, too. The only thing I didn't like much is that sometimes their sounds were annoying a bit. They scream soooo much... But it's bearable, isn't it?
In my opinion, the most exciting thing about the game was its lore. The game's universe seems to be rich and quite impressive, so I'd even say I'd like to read a book about it if there were one. With every new chapter, I felt that I'd like to know more and more about the journey's background. The giants? The trolls? This poor cute creature which looks almost like Trico from The Last Guardian, which I was worried about so much? Where did they all come from? How do they live together in this huge exciting world? The people's blood, but why? What's happening there while we're just going through the game? All the little details you get are pretty entertaining to think about.
And I'm not saying it was a perfect experience, but it was actually good. Somehow it's still exciting to go on the adventure this game offers. Even if it was released in 2013, and it's almost ten years passed by. Even if there are some little annoying bugs, and some sounds are definitely not the best option the developers were able to choose. Even if learning to swim in a thunderstorm was not the best idea as for the younger brother (though, it was quite a strong moment considering the controls feature). Even if it's unlikely that I will replay this game ever after.
Because, after all, I can surely recommend it.
