Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince Review (Noonu)
9/10 A very well-refined modern take on the OG Zelda games.
I thought I was in for a mediocre LoZ clone or, at best, passion project. I was way off. Blossom Tales 2 sports great gameplay, visuals, skill/item loadout, music, even silly story choices. Lots of thoughtful finishing touches. Even the storytelling setting is a great hat tip to old favorites. It's not easy to stand tall and proud on the shoulders of giants. Blossom Tales 2 pulls it off.
Notes:
- Difficulty: kid-friendly
- Length: beat it at close to 100% in 16 hrs (IMO a good length)
- Only thing I don't understand is having to pause to switch items so frequently when there are plenty of unused buttons. I assume this was a design choice, given the amount of thought put into everything else, but I don't get it.
