Blasphemous Review (Pouyakaaf)

The game is just very pleasant for eyes, ears and fingers. I would personally rate it 8.5/10.
It starts out slowly and lets you learn its mechanics but you will be dashing and slashing your way through before you know it. The combat is fluent and, in some occasions, pretty fast paced.
The game isn't really hard and you will kill most of the bosses on your first or second try. There are plenty of spells to adjust to your play style, plenty of power-ups and upgrades to make your exploration worthwhile, plenty of collectibles to keep you busy and give you extra few hours of gameplay and a couple of puzzles with big rewards behind them that will make you very satisfied if you solve them on your own. So Blasphemous is definitely not a game where you just play it speed-running throughout the entire levels (it is the way it’s supposed to be played) so a lot of patience would be required if you want to enjoy the game fully.
I cannot say much about the story without spoiling it. I can only say it's brutal, dramatic and original, and the way it is told just makes it even more interesting.
The visuals in my honest opinion are great and I believe most Metroid-Vania fans will agree, but not everyone is fan of such grotesque pixel art. every place feels special and unique whether because of the ambiance, the music or even the enemies, and the level design's variety helps taking advantage of the character's movements and controls perfectly.
There are, of course some flaws which I would like to point out: lack of enemy variety; lack of difficulty and replay value.
However, those flaws are nothing compared to the great content that Blasphemous offers you.
Blasphemous tries, and succeeds in being as original as it can, and is one truly beautiful experience.
