Blasphemous Review (Big Trader)
I can't even begin to describe how great and HOLY this game is. The old medieval catholic aesthetic is pleasing to watch and play in. The character designs range from hellish creatures and deformed popes and alright looking peasants to the design of our hero and his allies which seem to be mostly inspired by Spanish Catholicism and the SPANISH INQUISITION(Our Hero's Image ) while some of his allies seem to be inspired by old catholic icons like Our Lady of Sorrows which look just mama mia they are so pleasingly to watch even the Architecture and it's design which seem to be a mix of different old and new buildings. The story is also bombastic but it requires a bit of patience and exploration since you need to piece it together from the different bosses, allies and hidden doors and such. There are also 3 endings and I feel like the creators somehow praise Religion and the holy benefits(HOPE) that it can give to people who are with one foot in the grave but also try to make you aware of false hoods and priests that offer you salvation via Religion. Especially the third ending explores that even deeper but I wont spoil it(just play it). The soundtrack is also great but don't expect any hardcore and epic orchestras when fighting the bosses. My minor issues with the game is that the keyboard input sometimes doesn't work correctly or it has a delay which can result in a lot of unfair falls to your death. Some game play mechanics are also annoying especially against some very (almost cheat like) enemies. The map and some level designs need improvement in my opinion since they are very deceptive and sometimes don;t even make sense. Overall Great Game. P.S This game made me go church just to stare at the icons and architecture.
