BioShock 2 Remastered Review (rategod)
The story of the second BioShock brings us back to the underwater city of Rapture, but ten years after the events of the last game. This time the protagonist will be one of the beings called Big Daddy. Not only is it your job to make sure he survives, but since he's waking up without actually knowing what's going on, you have no choice but to find out the truth.
Ruined Rapture is under the rule of Sofia Lamb, who constantly proclaims that the city is a paradise, but just look around and you will immediately know that the girl is slightly mistaken or her glasses are broken. Which she doesn't want to admit, and since your Big Daddy is a problem for her, she decides to get rid of him with the help of her army and also special enemies called Big Sisters.
As a prototype Big Daddy called Delta, you have several advantages over other Big Daddies you meet. You are faster, more intelligent, and above all, you have free will.
At the beginning of the game, you only have a drill, which is of course a weapon suitable for close combat. But it's not that easy, even a drill needs something and that's gasoline. It doesn't work without it and you can just swing it around and beat enemies over the head with it.
Over time, you will find a decent number of weapons, such as a shotgun, a machine gun, a spear thrower or even a grenade launcher. All weapons can be upgraded and also have different types of ammunition.
The game offers improvements to weapons and abilities, as well as various auxiliary active and passive improvements, thanks to which you can choose several ways to fight against enemies. Personally, I focused on the fight with the drill right from the start and I convinced myself that after the right upgrades it is the most OP weapon in the game.
Bioshock is a unique shooter, it already set the bar high in the first part and it didn't disappoint even now. We can argue that we've already been to Rapture once, so it won't surprise us that much, but why not return to a place that still has a lot to offer, and from a different perspective. Of course, the initial enchantment of the ruined city is no longer so strong, but it is still an environment that does not bore. 30%
