Beyond the Long Night Review (mick)
as a person who barely plays games nowadays -
i just want to say that the many tiny hidden details make this game so much more special to me personally, it's such a cute & wonderful roguelike. the audio & art design is masterfully done too and they contribute to the game's atmosphere so much -- i found myself spending more time taking in the environment around my little explorer instead of fighting, the general ambiance, the gems and the setting of the forest area really reminded me of those fun old school games you'd use to play having a CRT monitor hooked up and that got me so severely nostalgic - needless to say i'm going to be playing this for quite a bit. it's genuinely fun & extremely replayable!
my only criticism would be to make camera shake off by default as it makes the screen vibrate a lot and i think it subtracts from the already amazing experience that this is.
TLDR if you play games for fun, have a taste for small details and love pixel graphics, try this out and support one of the most passionate indie devs out there!
