Beyond Galaxyland Review (Shofi)
I really have mixed feelings about this game. While the combat is enjoyable, especially the boss fights, the soundtrack is catchy, the pixel art is really nice, but the one of the most important things that keeps me playing - the story - is just awful. The main protagonist sucks, a weak guy who cannot make simple decisions and cries every 5 seconds. For half of the game, the main character wants to return to Earth, which has obviously been destroyed, only to see that it has been freking wiped out... Then the goal is to get to the magic mirror or whatever it was called that grants wishes, and he changes his mind that he should not do it literally seconds before entering it. The story is pure mess... The rest of the companions are also bad, I literally did not like any of them. An annoying stupid robot, a mentally disabled Chernobyl hamster and a stupid girl who decided to leave the team because - she needs to sleep now and screw you and your plans lol. A bloody dream team. At least the lizard guy was cool. Ahh, did I mention that the main antagonist is weird and makes no sense too?
The dialogues are strange, this game has one of the worst Polish translations I have ever seen in a video game. It looks like it was translated by some kind of AI or put through Google Translate. The amount of grammatical typos is staggering, there are mistakes in literally every few sentences. This game should stay in English only.
At least the mini-games were ok. The racing mini-game was cool, but slighty annoying. I liked the idea of catching enemies like in Pokemon, then leveling them up to use their abilities in battle, neat idea. Catching bosses that way was super satisfying. Collecting photos of the aliens species was cool too. Theres also a lot of platforming sections, lol like literally half the game is jumping around on platforms and it was not a pleasant expirience... Is it a JRPG or a platforming genre?
Overall the whole game was a total waste of time, everything you did in the game does not matter because the game ends on a terrible cliffhanger.
