Battlerite Review (LiAUKAS)

TLDR: Game is not bad but it is on it's last legs.
Still playable but abandoned by developers.
You can still have fun.
----

It pains me to give this one a negative review as it is one of the best multiplayer/ pvp games I had a chance to play.
I bought it in 2017 and been on and off since then.
Back then it was something new for me as I have never tried “Bloodline Champions“ and it hooked me from the start. What hooked me is gameplay + amazing controls of the character. If league of legends had control scheme like this (WASD + mouse to aim) I would literally lose my social life to it and never comeback to reality.
Game showed a great promise of being something amazing maybe one of the most popular eSports titles.
Developers seemed to care about it releasing champions, making new modes on holidays for players to try, doing tournaments with prizes ect.
What went wrong? I don't exactly know probably the craze of BATTLE ROYALE games as developers created seperate game BATTLERITE royale after experimenting with similar game mode idea.
Sooo following that fortnite and PUBG bandwagon they split already not super huge player base into two, little by little stopped improving both games (too hard to split attention between two?) and sadly players started leaving. Royale is fully dead as you probably cannot even play with players anymore, only bots.
This has small player base with rotating number of players but it is still playable and you can find matches quite fast <1-2mins. EU servers and US, Don't know about others.
Game is very skill based and fast paced, matches do not take too long (like in LoL) so it is perfect for those who cannot allow themselves to play 40min. matches. Probably one of the best things of battlerite is that no matter how outmatched your team seems you still have a slim chance to pull something out and win. There is plenty of youtube videos were people are able to comeback or win in 2v1 and 3v1 situations.

As the game is dying things are quite bad.
IT IS STILL PLAYABLE and you can definitely enjoy it BUT if you are just starting be careful as match making will pair you up with anyone who wants to play. Be it player with 10 hours or 1000 hours. So learning curve AT THIS STATE OF THE GAME might be a bit steep and with this issue comes another thing. Toxicity. At the beginning in 2017 community was very friendly and decent, but this is a competitive game so cocky assholes and all a like are not unusual. Sadly right now a lot of people expect you to be good in a game from the start (as they don't know that you might be new). So if you are a tad sensitive or afraid that toxicity will drive you off the game use "/disablechat" in game and enjoy ;) OR grab your friends and play that way. Problem with rage quiting, toxicity and all that is that there is and I think NEVER was any punishment. So anyone can flame, anyone can leave whenever they feel like it or just start a match and be AFK. This might be one of many reasons why this game failed as eSports title. Lastly it is very addictive, so that might be bad for someone as it this game gives you ''the rush''. You win and you want to play because you feel good. You loose and you want to play again because you had a bad match and it annoyed you. BE CAREFUL :D

- Gameplay is amazing. WASD + mouse to aim controls. Precise and very responsive
- Easy to learn but hard to master
- Champion balance in a game is very good (probably hardest part to create and maintain in a game like this)
- Graphics not great, not terrible.
- Ranked matchmaking is probably unavailable, so you will have to play casual or custom matches.
- Does not require super powerful PC
- Decent champion selection
- GREAT CUSTOMIZATION of characters (cosmetics and ''skills'')
- NOT PAY TO WIN.

In my dreamworld, developers never dropped this game to follow the fortnite and PUBG craze and are still updating the game. Report system is working, leaving a match is punishable but not too harshly (CSGO, LoL type timed BANS)
Game is thriving with huge player base of all skill levels. Tournaments are happening. This is TOP5 eSports title people are investing their lives in. We meet in a game have a great match, friend list each other and are a part of big and awesome community.

Good luck for developers in doing their Vrising game, hope it goes well, but I have a feeling it will not be as great as this one as this was something else.
Lets hope this game will still kick a bit, sadly without me as I AM DONE.
