Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate - Deluxe Edition Review (Solidwurm)
I think it's more of "majority says this sucks therefor it must be awful". Or maybe they all just suck at sidescrolling beat em ups? It's not gonna play like the other Arkham games and was made for a much smaller system on top of that. What it IS though is a simple punching game dressed up as Batman Arkham. Does it mean it sucks? Nope. Does it suck? Nope. Controls fine, plays fine, sounds fine, and I'm not expecting graphics that'll blow muh nutz off either given the lower specs for the handheld it was made for originally.
If you enjoyed side scroller brawlers then you'll like this as ok, it's not a groundbreaking game. Definitely NOT the dumpster fire I've heard echoed across the interwebs. If you got $5 just grab it and play it for yourself. Don't be a lemming. It's a fine game, not my fave or OMG you gotta effin play effin Blackgate yo! It's just a fine little side game to add to the Arkham series, nothing else. If you loved Akrham you'll be safe playing this.
