Ballionaire Review (Azure The Sky)
The game is interesting, but the more you play the worse it gets and I'll elaborate on that:
Making any build quickly becomes an absolute RNG hell because you have no redundancy in the items offered and very, very few ways to actually replicate any of the pieces you got, so you really are at RNGs mercy and the more items you unlock, the wrose it gets.
Second thing is, once you reach the the part where the game has "Tribulations", which are basically negative passive effects, the game becomes an absolute chore, becuase these tribulations are absolutely brutal and unfun to play around.
Good concept, good execution, but maybe not playtested enough? I don't know, I feel like there's a great game here but the game itself isn't letting me play it in an actual fun way.
The devs giving generic canned responses to the negative reviews doesn't really help the way I feel either when any criticism to the game design is met with "Thank you for trying our game!!! We're sorry you didn't like it :(((".
F#%k off with that. Either address what is being said or just shut up. This isn't a Helpdesk inbox, it's a review section.
Ultimately, you'll see that most reviews are positive because a lot of them barely played more than 1 ~ 3 hours. Because that's the timeframe in which the game is fun. After that, you start to realize that basically nothing is viable and you have very little control over your build.
If you're satisfied with a 2~3 hour game, it's a good novelty. If you're looking for something more long term like Slay The Spire or Balatro, stay away.
