Atari Mania Review (wallace321)
It's like NES Remix and the Warioware franchise but for Atari. Really enjoyed it.
My two biggest criticisms;
1. you can't play the original at all, or these "remastered" versions in any capacity aside from the microgame playlist format. You can't just pick one to play it specifically, but that's pretty standard for the microgame genre.
And 2. some of the "remastered" versions are just a bit too remastered, in my opinion, and there is some inconsistency in how they looked. Some games / environments / characters have some more definition but are still very much blocky pixelated early-mid 80s Atari graphics, but others are somewhat too detailed, as if they are from a different era entirely.
Still had a lot of fun, found the games very enjoyable, and really liked finding all the classic cover art (which is gorgeous) and manuals. Microgames; here for a good time, not a long time.
Regarding other reviews complaints about controls? Or supposedly too much luck / randomness involved?
I assure you, 100%, "skill issue".
