Atari Mania Review (Doctor Jordan)
My dad got me an Atari 2600 for my birthday when I was 10 years old and I spent hours playing this game. You had to use your imagination because the differences were huge from the cover art and the pixels on the TV screen. I liked that you could play any of the 100 games with different characters from all eras, like Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, and Super Pong.
I also like that it is not forgivable and when you lose you lose. The only thing is that the mini games are too short and easy to win after few tried. I also missed the old joystick game play; for example with the tanks and asteroid space craft, I find it was easier to control the original game than this version.
The nice feature I like is that they mesh up the games into one. Like the tanks in a breakout game, or the spacecraft in Adventure layout etc.
I loved the old games and I am glad they have brought back some of them. I was a kid in the 70s and they made me feel like a kid again.
