Asylum Review (DiMaT)
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM!
I've only played one hour, but this game got me dropping everything I was doing today.
ASYLUM seems to be a masterpiece of psychological horror that immerses players in a haunting and enveloping experience, fulfilling a long-standing promise. The meticulously designed setting of the Hanwell Mental Institute creates an atmosphere so realistic that you can almost sense the decay and deterioration around you.
The original storyline, kept secret during 15 years of production, captivates from the very beginning and unfolds over approximately 10 hours of gameplay, not counting the dark secrets waiting to be discovered. The presented challenges are thrilling and reward the player's wit and observation, offering a gratifying experience for puzzle enthusiasts.
The soundtrack, inspired by 1980s horror films with touches of John Carpenter, perfectly complements the game's atmosphere, intensifying the sense of unease without resorting to cheap scares. If you're passionate about slow-burning horror with a classic sensibility that seeps into your mind, ASYLUM will be an unforgettable experience.
The voice acting is exceptional, bringing each character to life and deepening the player's connection to the unfolding narrative. The innovative dialogue system allows for meaningful interactions, enhancing immersion and making every conversation impactful. The game's atmosphere is further enriched by these elements, creating a cohesive and chilling experience that lingers long after the game is over.
Highly recommended!
