Age of Wonders 4: Ways of War Review (russbarbarian)
The update is interesting, although it sticks out from the overall style. It feels like it's purposely in the general wave after the release of Black Myth: Wukong.
I have nothing against Asian Mythology or supplements in a similar vein. Rather raise questions in the way it's made. If they wanted to make a Murim world with monks and martial arts masters, they underdid it. If they wanted to highlight Japan, they left out a huge layer of Yokai.
To some extent, age of wonders is more about high fantasy with a smattering of steampunk and Lovecraft. (This is purely my view of the game)
With each add-on, you wait for the magic and culture branches to expand and have more intersecting paths. Although, if the game will develop according to the classic system of Paradox Interactive, the final version of the game will take about 10 years.
I apologise for my English, it is not my native tongue.
