Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition - Knights of the Mediterranean Review (D-Lusional)

I think I can honestly say this DLC might be the most content we have seen from any Age of Empires DLC. It brings in two new factions, one which can boom effectively and the other just being pure fun. We also see 37 new maps: 30 for regular skirmishes and 7 for objective-based gameplay.
Italians: - As mentioned, the Italians can boom greatly with their new building, the Lombard, backed by a civ bonus that spawns a villager whenever you complete an upgrade from any building. Although you start with only 3 villagers at the start, you get an economic unit called an 'architect' who can make buildings for free albeit at a slower build time.
Malta: - We finally get a civ in AoE 3 that can be classed as a defensive civ and be damn good at it. They love cannons and when I mean they love cannons, they LOVE cannons. They specialize in forts, towers and fixed guns supported by depots that increase their attack speed. Heck, their towers can have flamethrowers installed as a secondary attack against close range targets. Speaking of additional firepower, some of their unique units can be armed with additional weapons to make them more effective in combat, such as rockets on their heavy infantry. They don't have any good cavalry-wise with only a hussar and dragoon, but with shipments they can bring in Spanish and French cavalry from their Commanderies building.
Historical maps: - I had a lot of fun playing their objective based maps because it brought new victory conditions for skirmish. For the most part you complete an objective in teams of attackers and defenders with and against other players. In one map you could be the defenders protecting a command building inside a big fortified base with fixed guns while the attackers need to lay siege and destroy said building within a time limit. To make things more chaotic, the attackers can capture the fixed guns from the defenders and spawn Turkish bombard cannons periodically to assist their siege.
Knights of the Mediterranean is a DLC worth buying, especially if you have friends to play any of the historical maps in PvE or PvP warfare.
