Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Dynasties of India Review (Fafnir)
Fairly low quality DLC. Indians - now Hindustani - are still very much an OP civ for the late game with few counters, but now we get some more Indians civs that are disappointing and leaning into the opposite direction. Dravidians of course the worst of the worst despite all the reworks. Arbalests with all upgrades are pretty muh in a game that is now full with counters.
The campaigns themselves are annoying in all the wrong ways especially after expansions like the lords of the west that I would describe as AoE Gold Standard. There is always that sense of unfairness and the grind to get more playtime out of each and every single mission. The design is repetitive, the map design unfavorable and confusing. More often than not it is the AI spewing an endless stream of units at you. Hence, it is again and again the same race for just enough static defenses, let the AI burn through their resources (if applicable), then start counter attacking.
Lastly and most subjectively, I just don't dig the scenario (except maybe for the Babur campaign). I have the very subtle suspicion that the main drive was sales in the Indian subcontinent and not the desires of the community.
