Afterimage Review (Pogobro)
Its a solid metroidvania. So far what I can say is the combat is fun, the bosses are great, and the map is HUGE. Lots of optional stuff as well. The game does a great job rewarding you for exploring, and while there is a bit of item bloat, its not like castlevania SOTN where every item is worse than the one you already have. There is a ton of backtracking, multiple different paths to take (although some of the early ones are really high level so you get one shot lol).
Its not all that challenging, I have run into 1 boss that took multiple attempts, but so far all the enemies are designed fairly so cant complain.
It doesn't do anything really unique or groundbreaking, but its just a really solid entry, The art and visuals are some of the best we have seen in the genre in the past year, soundtrack is good but not amazing.
For full price I would say go ahead and buy if you are craving a fairly standard metroidvania experience, but if you want something groudbreaking, probably wait for a sale.
