Ad Infinitum Review (The Bait Meat Boat)
The tags are 90% incorrect stating the game is survival horror or action related, it is a walking simulator. The music at certain parts is inappropriate and ruins all tension if there ever was any. The house segments are probably the worst part of the game, with few if any horror elements and bland puzzles and notes. I encountered quite a few bugs where i get launched into the air across the map or the sound of the final boss being completely absent during the cutscene events. Some locked doors can even be randomly actually opened. The story is full of the same old tropes of modern horror walking sim games: mental illness, abuse, and exaggerated depth. The graphics are actually very nice, lots of detail with good lighting and it doesn't run too poorly. The gameplay is pretty lacking with just puzzles and walking around. The enemies can be pretty much ran by most the time and there's no real inventory to manage at all. The most compelling thing about this game would be the design of the monsters, they're very unique and detailed I like them a lot. Overall, I think this game is another victim of the current wave of horror that supports little mechanical depth and psychological horror themes that boil down to mental illness stereotypes and shock value drama.
