Across the Obelisk: Nenukil, the Engineer Review (Domino/DarkEyv)
The highlight of the DLC, Nenukil, to me, is the most "clunker" of a hero they've introduced yet. One build that his level-up tree seems to encourage is stacking up speed in one turn with a bunch of melee-related cards to then end the combo with a supercharged ranged attack is extremely underwhelming and difficult to pull off early in the run without a TON of a relatively rare card (Setup), a build which ALSO requires you to maintain his starting item which occupies the armor slot (an important one to throw away for the whole run) instead of it just being... an integrated passive. It ends up being very lacking in damage and potency no matter how I try to implement it due to the game's lack of meticulous micromanagement of specific, necessary cards, and this character is the only one I've struggled to grasp and refine after more than a run or two.
The other build is... a somewhat generic-looking tanking build on a scout that just seems redundant and unnecessary? The base game's starting scout already has a strong tanking build. There isn't much more to say about this one.
It kinda feels like he should just be dual-class and his supposed speed-stacking gimmick should be revamped to be buffed/easier to pull off, especially earlier in the run as opposed to having his later level-up effects be integral to making it work.
At least the robot pet this DLC comes bundled with is kinda neat and fulfills a new niche, I guess.
