A Little to the Left Review (aura)
I really wanted to like this game, and I think it has a lot of merit. The game's style is really cute and very well crafted. It is visually very strong and what drew me into the game to begin with.
However, I just can't say the same about the puzzle design. I understand it is first and foremost, a puzzle game where you have to find the "catch". But it advertises itself as a relaxing organisational experience and it's not really that. Some puzzles only have one set answer even if you can craft many different ways to organise the scene.
I found myself frustrated as I can't figure out why my answer wasn't correct, after a few times of feeling this way I just couldn't keep playing. The real answers are too abstract and sometimes feel arbitrary. Sometimes I would just stumble upon these "real answers" randomly because of the items snapping into place and playing an audio cue.
I think a way that could make this game feel better to play is allow more and looser answers to all puzzles. Let the players experiment and find all the possible solutions. When I'm done with a level, instead of moving me forward, let me retry and fiddle around and see what different and abstract answers I can make up.
The "let it be" option is a good design choice but feels unsatisfying to click when I've made my own answer.
I feel like the whole time I'm cleaning someone else's house with their rules instead of my own spaces which makes the game feel tedious unintentionally.
It's a cute game if you like abstract puzzles that look pretty, not really for those looking for a zen and carefree experience.
