VF5 R.E.V.O. Producer Letter #4
Greetings, I am Aoki, the producer of the Legacy VIRTUA FIGHTER Project.
This month, we shared several significant updates during EVO Japan 2025, our VF Direct Spring 2025, and Combo Breaker 2025. How did you like them? We would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on social media, our official Discord, or directly when you see our team at upcoming events.
I am writing this letter just after the conclusion of the North American qualifier, Combo Breaker 2025, which marks the beginning of the first ever VIRTUA FIGHTER Open Championship (VFOC). Amid the excitement in the venue and the intense energy of the players, I wanted to congratulate MGG/chinpanJ on securing a well-deserved ticket to the Global Finals! We look forward to seeing even greater achievements from you in the future.
Now, as mentioned in a previous letter, we are pleased to announce the implementation of Replay Mode in the upcoming Ver. 1.04 update, scheduled for release soon. As previously explained, Replay Mode allows players to select and view replays of matches from both online and offline modes via the replay list. While watching a replay, you can see real-time information such as input history, command inputs, attack-related details, and frame data—similar to what appears in Free Training mode. Additionally, the update will include an option to hide the opponent’s name while viewing replays. And finally, we have added a feature that lets you take control and play from any point you choose.
We hope players will make full use of Replay Mode to review their own fighting styles, practice combos, and work toward improving their overall skills. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please feel free to share them with us on our official Discord.
The second destination of the VFOC, the Asia Qualifier, will be held on July 6th in Tokyo. Registration is currently open, so if you have not signed up yet, we encourage you to join the competition!
We will also be hosting online qualifier tournaments and look forward to your participation in those as well. For more details, please visit the official VFOC website.
