Unfinished Business Launch Timing & Just What Is A Standalone Anyway?
Reach down for your holster and spin your Auto-9 cause RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business launches tomorrow, July 17th. We're excited to welcome you back to Old Detroit, but some of you may have questions ahead of launch. Let's dive in, shall we?What is a Standalone?
This standalone follows on from Rogue City, it's not required to have played it, but Unfinished Business does make use of the systems created for Rogue City. We've expanded on these for Unfinished Business, with new weapons, enemies, environments, and a brand new storyline. All of this takes place in the OmniTower, a housing project turned death trap, that players will navigate on their way to the top. That's the only way to stop the mercenaries gaining access to all OCP technology, RoboCop included.Opting for a standalone also meant that we could expand the scope on what would be a traditional DLC, introducing new gameplay experiences: like playing as Alex Murphy back when he was a beat cop, or causing chaos as ED-209. As huge fans of RoboCop, Unfinished Business gave us the option to expand on the universe, revealing more backstory about Murphy's life before he became RoboCop, and solidifying the place of Rogue City between RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3. We hope fans enjoy playing these moments as much as we did crafting them. Lastly, like the title suggests, Unfinished Business can stand alone, meaning you don't need to own Unfinished Business on the same platform as Rogue City, or even own Rogue City to play Unfinished Business.
