Q: Will there be ways to save equipment setups?
A: While we understand that having to recreate your character setup every time you create a new character. Making a system to Save and copy existing character setups would require significant development time. This is something we might revisit in the future.
Q: Has there been any consideration to allow us to change the default ranged weapon?
A: Assuming you wish to have a Crossbow other than an assault crossbow as a weapon when no other Crossbow is equipped, this is under consideration.
Q: When making balance changes to the game, what are the factors being considered when making them, what portion of the player base (if any) is being studied or consulted going into these changes, and can we expect less frequent but large-scale balance passes like this again or more frequent, smaller scale balance passes instead?
A: We make balance adjustments based on feedback from within the team and from players, as well as from information gathered through testing. In addition, while we have been making large-scale balance adjustments in the past, we believe that it would be ideal to make smaller-scale balance adjustments more frequently in the future.
Q: The high damage, perfect accuracy, and damage falloff values of Magic Arrow at current make it in almost all cases the best choice for any range engagement. Its ease of use makes it a better choice for most players even in engagements where an Ice Spear user should have the advantage. Is Magic Arrow overperforming, is Ice Spear underperforming, or are they both where the team wants them to be?
A: Thank you for your input, Even within the development team, we feel that the Magic Arrow is too versatile, which is a challenge in terms of customization diversity. At the start of Season 3, adjustments have been made to the Magic Arrow's performance, such as reducing its long-range advantage, while retaining its characteristic rapid-firing speed as a feature.
Q: How often can we expect to see balance changes within Warlander?
A: We will be doing small balance changes running through the seasons. As soon as we see the need to update the balancing in the game we will prepare it.
Q: New players are feeling steamrolled by experienced players with a lot of items. Any plans on improving the experience for new players?
A: This is a top priority. We have taken action to completely isolate new player matchmaking during the first 20 battles. We will also make some titles easier to obtain to alleviate the equipment gap, and in Season 3, we will also increase the number of items and skills that new players will have from the start.
We will continue to make improvements to make it easier for new players to enter the game.
Q: What are your plans to balance wizards? they are by far the most played class and strongest. they diffidently have the most impact on the game.
A: We have received a lot of feedback on the performance of the Mage. We are currently in the process of organizing player and team feedback and developing a plan for adjustments. We plan to make adjustments in Season 3.
Q: Will there be more gold events in the future for our free-to-play friends?
A: Events with Goldings as rewards will be held on a regular basis.
Q: How do you intend on incentivizing us to invest into cosmetics and battlepasses moving forward?
A: We will continue to create more and new exciting items and cosmetics for everyone to enjoy! There's a lot more to come!
Q: Are there any plans on possibly introducing class-specific loot rewards possibly a daily or just a portion of the drops you recovered aimed at the class you played that match?
A: We like this idea and are discussing internally better way to improve getting new drops and equipment. Nothing concrete has been planned yet.
Q: Are you planning on adding some bonus loot for people who already completed the season pass? F.e. you get a random mythic item for every 250k xp you earn on top of lvl 100. It gives players an incentive to keep logging on daily to do the daily/weekly challenges.
A: We're working on retention and systems to incentivize people to play the game after completing the Battle Pass as well as early on in the seasons. Making the levels keep going is something that's brought up internally.
Q: Are there any plans to increase the inventory space?
A: With the last update, inventory expansion packs are now available for sale in Goldings. Please consider purchasing them from the Shop.
Q: Will the cleric class ever expect to receive a gap closer / distance-making ability? Especially with the reduction to the speed stat, the argument that cleric has access to the fastest speed titles as their initiator/escape tool holds little weight when one considers the availability of health now and what you sacrifice by not taking an HP-based title and build.
A: Clerics are designed as a class that can provide a variety of support, so it is possible that skills specific to mobility will be implemented in the future.
Q: Are custom matches only planned for events?
A: At this time, it is planned to be used exclusively for events. This could potentially change in the future.
Q: Are there any plans to release a setting to reduce confusion for people who are colorblind in the future?
A: It will be supported and is currently in the process of being implemented.
Q: Are there any plans for Twitch drops?
A: We want to do Twitch drops and are currently trying to get the game to a great spot before introducing this.
Q: What do you intend to do to keep a more casual gameplay experience and to keep new players interested?
A: We will address the concerns of the players. This includes improving the Matchmaking system to prevent new players from being killed by veterans. And Increase the quality of the game loop with new skills, maps, etc. We're also planning to give more incentives to play the game beyond The battle pass.
Recently, we have implemented cross-party and voice chat so that more people can enjoy the game.
Q: 5 army battle mode is good and very hard to win, do you have plans to include it in the ranking by giving points to the team depending on the place they finish?
A: There are no concrete plans at this time, but it is possible that a system could be implemented or similar in the future.
Q: When will we be able to communicate with our squad that we solo queue up for, as I think that it would be interesting to have proximity chat with your squad and other friendly squads near you, allowing squads team up and make the current playstyle a little more tactical.
A: In-game voice chat has been implemented.
Voice chat is only available between users who have configured their settings to allow voice chat.
Q: Wil Warlander be on PS4/Xbox One?
A: There are currently no plans for a previous gen console version of Warlander.
Q: Will there be cross platform parties?
A: Cross-party was implemented in Season 2! Players from different platforms can party with each other.
Q: Will there be a character with a horse and who advances with a spear?
A: We are not planning to do this at this time, as the inclusion of a character with extremely high mobility could significantly upset the balance of the game.
Q: Are there any plans to expand on the commander role? And how?
A: Our plans for the commander is to first simplify the role so it's easier to understand. Afterwards we will expand what the Commander can do and their responsibilities to make them feel more impactful on the battlefield
Q: Would it be possible for us to be able to stay in the main menu while searching for a match to look at the map, change some equipment?
A: This is not currently planned due to system reasons, but will be considered.
Q: Is there a possibility, and if so a plan, to enable reconnecting to a game you've been disconnected from?
A: Due to the complexity of the network system thanks to elements such as object destruction, there are currently no plans to implement a feature that would allow re-connection to the game.
Q: Do you plan to add more ice spells to the mage other than the ice spear we already have?
A: Recently, Ice Missile has been implemented for Mages.
Q: Is it possible to expect a new rarity named "Unique" and in that rarity it would have to more fun styled weapons that Happy Wars had? Such as chainsaw swords, the moonlight blades, cat paw staffs etc...
A: More interesting item and weapon designs just like Happy Wars are coming! They will not have a special Rarity though.
Q: Will the AI allies/enemies receive any updates to their AI, equipment or other additions to make them a more formidable foe?
A: We're monitoring the performance of bots in the game and making sure that they fill out the battlefield and can't be ignored. While keeping them at a level where new players doesn't feel helpless against them.
Q: Is there any intention to increase focus on squad goals? Potentially by increasing valor for tasks that are the responsibility of that squad for that squad?
A: Yes, we are testing various measures to make it easier to act in squads. We are testing various measures to make it easier to act in squads. We are still testing them, but we hope to be able to show you all in the near future.
Q: How do you feel about having an option for players to vote against getting a specific role? (current system is players can raise hand to vote for it but even if 3 don't want the role and 1 player does, if no one else on the team votes that 1 player pulls the squad)
A: This is an interesting idea, we will consider it.
Q: Is there any plan to equalize valor between players that farm points and disregard squad goals and players that focus on squad goals even at the cost of their own valor?
A: This is a point we are frequently discussing internally. We plan to improve it so that players who are more aware of their squad roles and contribute to the victory are better appreciated.
Q: Is the plan to allow separate queues for players that want to play solo vs squads? (Queues that both allow drops and rank progression)
A: We are considering it. We are cautious about implementing this system because if we include it, it may not be possible to matchmake for large groups.
Q: Any cool events planned for the future?
A: We are planning more regular events in the future. Please look forward to them!
Q: Could we have our team enter same wait lobby practice area? Would love to be in a training lobby with my friends so we can hangout pregame. Is this possible in the future?
A: Under consideration. Likely to be implemented in the future.
Q: Do you plan to implement a way that I can play with more than 3 friends at a time in any capacity?
A: We have plans of a Event in the future we're naming "Union War" which will increase the likelihood of friends getting into the same battle using tags. More about this will be revealed when ready.
Q: Do you plan on adding a way to repair an object while its on fire or put a fire out either but a nearby bucket or water spell or anything of the kind?
A: This Idea has been brought up several times within the development team. Our core concern for this feature is that it will increase match times, and could make some fronts too difficult to breach. The conversation is ongoing and might be added in the future if we feel we can make it work.
Q: Weaponizing the report system is a well-known issue in many other games. Players mass report the enemy teamβs key members to get them banned. Are there any popular solutions among the staff to solve this before it grows into a common WL issue?
A: Regarding cheats, if we detect any program or memory tampering, we ban those cheaters immediately. However, for reports from users, we try to investigate first. Therefore, we do not ban for mass reporting or false reporting.
Q: Is there a timeline on fixing the terrain issue with wind blast disappearing?
A: The team is aware of the issue and is taking steps to mitigate it as needed. We will continue to work on corrective actions.
Q: If some of the devs partied up and queued for a 2 army, what role are they picking and what classes/titles are they going with?
A: There is no specific popular build, as each person on the development team has a different play style. The director likes to destroy anti-siege weapons, so he often builds Characters that specialize in destroying objects before joining the assault team.
Q: Are there any considerations regarding the removal of insignificant buffs and talents such as +0.15% movement speed or +1.25% fire damage? These additions contribute very little value to a character.
A: We currently have no plans to remove these, as Talents are intended to be effective when multiple instances of the same type of Talent are equipped. There is a possibility we may adjust the balance of certain Talents.
