How Rogue Flight Saves Work
Hey All!
As we take in all the impressions from launch, I thought it would be a good time to briefly talk about how the save system works in Rogue Flight. This will be good info to reference later in case you encounter any issues down the road!
Rogue Flight utilizes an automatic save system that is fairly instantaneous. It saves upon scene load and scene exit in most cases.
RF access the C:\Users\
This allows you to go back-and-forth between rigs and / or steam deck, for example.
Now, in order to prevent cheating, we use an encryption system that is tied to your unique Steam account.
For that reason, if you have multiple users under the SAME windows account, you will need to back up your save and delete the old one before swapping users. if you don't, you'll encounter the corrupted save error screen below:
If this occurs, here are the steps you can take to remedy the issue:
Login to the original steam account that created the save
Delete the current one and start fresh. this may require disabling steam cloud temporarily.
If you encounter any issues creating a save file, remember that the game needs to be allowed to access the C:\Users\
