Welcome to Community Bulletin #20. You may or may not notice a Viking theme throughout this bulletin. This is because the RISK team is celebrating some new Viking content!
Here’s a fun Vikings fact, did you know that they did not call themselves Vikings? While we do not know exactly what they referred to themselves as, the term Vikings is a 19th century phrase. At the time of the Vikings, other nations referred to them as Norse, Norsemen and Danes.

The team has been busy this past month! Here’s what we’ve been working on!
Networking Overhaul
The team’s been working on a Networking Overhaul for RISK. The purpose is to provide better stability to the game and improve the overall multiplayer user experience.
The team is still working hard on this overhaul and will provide more updates in the coming months. This represents a huge change to infrastructure for the game so our devs are focussed on making sure we tackle this carefully.
Roadmap

Dev Q&A

We have more Viking’s content coming to RISK!
Last month, we asked the Community Discord to vote on their favorite Viking concept. The winner was the Viking boat! Set sail with the Wooden Dreki troop out next week!
You can expect to see another Viking troop next month. Like a pungent wine, this drink pushes the front line. This Viking Tankard will also be joining the RISK battlefield.

Things have also been busy in the community Discord.
The RISK 1v1 World Tournament finals concluded.
Now the Discord is gearing up for a new tournament.
