As we count down to the launch of Star Overdrive, we'd like to celebrate one of the game’s biggest inspirations: the unforgettable energy and aesthetic of the 1980s.
The music 🎸
From the moment you strum your Keytar, Star Overdrive channels the retro-futuristic soul of the '80s. One of the major signatures of the 80s is the game's soundtrack! Inspired by the great bands and artists of the era, composer Andréa Federici wanted to immerse us as deeply as possible in 80s rock, drawing inspiration from Van Halen, Deep Purple, Mr. Big and AC/DC.
Hoverboards, Keytar, Polaroid and Tapes 📼
Many of the game's mechanics are also linked to the 80s. The main character Bios speeds along on his Hoverboard and performs tricks that defy the laws of gravity, he also fights with his Keytar, and collects tapes and polaroids left by his girlfriend Nous.
