I bought this game back when it was in early access, as NextCarGame (you can still see it on some of the game files lol) I think it was always a bit much for the PC I had, as it kinda ran like junk. As I upgraded the GPU it got better, but I never really cracked into it, as the load times kinda detracted from it a bit on top of performance issues stemming from an antiquated CPU.
Anyway, I finally upgrade my PC to something with a new CPU, and an m2 ssd. On a whim I think to give Wreckfest a try to see how it plays. Holy crap, this game is an absolute blast. The m2 drive drops load times to more than acceptable short bursts of a few seconds at track changes, and I have no frame drops, keeping a solid 60fps at 4k. The game is gorgeous, the damage modeling is awesome, and the feeling of just ramming into someone as you take a corner, causing them to wreck in spectacular manner and you speed off leaving a nice jam for the cars behind you? Absolutely baller.
I've not bought much of the DLC, but the daily tournaments demoing some of it sold me on at least one piece of it. The big VW bug with punk spikes all over it really did the selling, but I'd say grab that along with this.
Bottom Line: If you like a racing experience where you're not penalized, but encouraged to beat the snot out of your other racers, this is going to be right up your alley. Provided you have a solid enough PC to run it, SSD/m2 drives needed.
