This game is getting DELISTED by Warner Bros. Buy it while you still can! That said, you should buy it even if it wasn't getting delisted, and yes I'm aware of the mixed rating this game has at the moment. I disagree with that rating. Personally, I didn't have issues with the controls, the length of the game (are we really having this discussion again in 2024?), or the difficulty (are we REALLY having this discussion again for real??). A game's difficulty can be whatever it wants as long as it doesn't commit false advertising in the process. A game's length can be whatever it wants as long as playing it doesn't feel like eating a jumbo box of sawdust. (Just because the box is bigger than, for example, a cookie doesn't mean the box of sawdust is better than a cookie, if you need that spelled out.) And the controls...I refuse to believe the idea that people who have spent any time gaming struggled with these controls. I had zero* issues with the controls, and I am definitely NOT the most dexterous and skilled of game players.
That all said, could it have been better? Sure, but what game doesn't have ways to improve. Here's my list of Ways the Game Could Be Improved If It Ever Gets a Rerelease or Something:
1. Make a sensitivity setting for the mouse wheel. I liked the game, but not enough to mess with my mouse settings just to have a slightly better control experience for this game. (The * earlier was because raising and lowering stuff with the mouse wheel was a bit of a chore. I coulda fixed that by increasing my scroll wheel sensitivity but meh.)
2. A sequel, or epilogue, extra comic book or SOMETHING to provide more closure than...whatever the ending is supposed to be. In fact, while I don't usually speculate on such things, the ending made me feel really strongly that there was more planned and just never got made. I dunno, I couldn't find anything on searching the internet but it really felt like there should be...something. If there wasn't anything planned though then I take points off because I (and others) hate poorly made endings in video games.
3. Make a way to go back to individual stages after you beat them or even just after beating the game. I know a lot of people think replay-ability is a good quality for a game to have, but I sorta don't. And I, as a completionist who also really enjoys world-building type stuff, really hate what feels like being forced to replay the ENTIRE game from the start just to find all the stuff I missed because I played without a walkthrough telling me where all the secrets are.
Other than that, this game is fine and deserves a positive review and not to be delisted wastefully for no good reason by a company that doesn't value art.
