I've never done any dodgy accounting (or have I?), but I did work in tech in the early 2000s and a lot of this is scarily familiar.
I'm struggling to decide whether I recommend this game or not. The puzzling is interesting and a little challenging; Dodgying up those spreadsheets was surprisingly satisfying. But, it definitely has "you needed to be there" vibes.
I haven't finished it yet, so I can't say for certain, but it feels like the game is celebrating these things as 'the good old days'. However, in my mind - as a young women working in an office full of men- they were the dark times and I am grateful for the reminder of how far we've come. If you'd like to reminisce about those 90s tech days, this might be for you.
Regardless of how we feel, I think we can all relate to the generous overtime "reward" of 2 slices of pizza.
Some technical issues I had:
- The game doesn't remember your resolution preferences. By default, it is tiny on my 4k screens and I had to go into settings every time I opened it to make it bigger.
- F12 screenshots come out black.
- The buttons in the top-left corner aren't labelled, and one quits the game without warning.
- The game asks for your name and then assume you're a guy the whole time. I'd have been ok with this if we were given a character rather than asking for our names.
