Steam deleted my review of the main game without giving a reason, I didn't swear or use any bigoted language, really all I said was FX3 is more fun. No Idea what's going on but it sure looks like a negative review being deleted to prop up the score for a poorly received game. I can only imagine how low the rating would be without Steam's help. And given this company's general scumminess I wouldn't be surprised if they're the ones requesting reviews be deleted.
For the actual review I'll just say that FX3 is better, the physics are more fun and the game feels snappy and responsive where this game feels sluggish. Disabling v-sync and the frame limit helps but not enough and FX3 doesn't need any fiddling to feel good. This isn't about needing to adjust to a new game, I only tried FX3 about a week ago and despite spending longer on some of these tables in the new game I'm significantly better on FX3. Playing this after playing 3 really made me think they must have lost some important people on the engine team, maybe as a result of the same greed that guides their monetization strategy.
I'm adding to this review cause this was the one that solidified how lazy these remakes are. Rogue One was one of the first tables I look a liking to in FX3 and it's a really fun table in that game. In the new FX though it's frustrating and way too difficult. It seems like they made no effort to make it fun to play on the new engine and shipped it anyway. I don't know what It played like at release but it's almost a year later and it's not good right now.
If you're looking at this game and thinking "huh, how have they managed to make over 400 USD worth of content in the same amount of time as other, larger developers make less than $100?" They haven't, they phoned in a majority of that content.
