Hugely frustrating game that does not hold your hand, will actively try to vex you at ever turn. But there is a great sense of accomplishment when you first drive the car that you built.. that is until your engine takes a dump, piston 3 departs on a one way voyage to the stars and your engine block gains a new inspection window.
So you pick up the pieces, curse at the sky and dust yourself off. Buy parts and rebuild, tweak and tune. Learn how to make money to afford those coveted upgrades to make your Satsuma stand out. The car is becoming your own. You'll make friends and enemies along the way. Choose to be virtuous or a villain, but there might be consequences for your actions.
You foolishly enter the Suvi Sprint, come last and absolutely trash your pride and joy. Crash-rebuilt, crash-rebuild, over and over until with luck and skill you get first place. Then you realise that this was only the Junior Cup and you have to do it all again to even qualify for entry into the Amateur Cup.
You will laugh and you will cry. But mostly cry.

bought game in 2017...so this review comes from my first play through in 2017....
-load into the game with excitement of building a car since I am a mechanic in real life.
-realize there is zero help or tutorial
-start building engine and realize food needs to be eaten, saunas need to happen and beers need drank
-take tractor to go to town, roll tractor in a ditch, walk back home
-get in van try to figure out how to drive/start the thing (20 minutes later we are off)
-get to town buy supplies and drive back with zero money and not enough fuel, run out of fuel and walk home
-take poop truck and fuel cans to get fuel then drive back home
-notice phone rings, answer and get poop sucking jobs
-do some jobs
-attempt to unroll tractor and get poop truck stuck
-walk to can with fuel can and fill van
-go back to building car and engine
-finish sort of building the car correctly
-first test drive get out of driveway down the road and hear knocking and then piston flys out of engine, find loose drain bolt
-walk back home to get van, forget about needs and die from hunger
-sit in silence after I realize I had mortal mode on
total time elapsed 10 hours of real life time.
start new game.....and convince my brother he needs to buy the game because of how cool of a car builder it is....(he buys game and yells at me the next day)

This game has a massive difficulty spike starting as soon as you open the game and it never really goes down unless you spend a ton of time trial and erroring your way through the various mechanics of the game or just look at the wiki. I don't mind needing a wiki to play My Summer Car because I genuinely enjoy the game, but it's definitely something to consider if you don't like having to be checking a web-page for most of your in-game information. I will say though, building an engine blind would be hell if I played this alone without two friends over discord, you have to not only put the whole damn thing together by yourself but you also have to do it in a certain order so you don't block part placement AND you have to tune it which isn't explained to you at all. Tuning also plays a significant factor in your engine performance so you either play the auto-shop to tune your shit for you or you use the wiki to do it yourself for free.
I'm not Finnish but this truly feels like an authentic Finland simulator, not that I would know.
