If you liked the first game, this is more of the same. Pretty colors and nice music... but overall I feel like this is a downgrade in every way from the first. It doesn't offer anything new in the way of puzzle mechanics, the levels are all much shorter, the puzzles are generally easier, (I didn't a single time have to stop and think about what I was going to do it basically autosolved most of the time) and the thin story is a little bit weaker. I finished this game in under two hours when the original took almost four.
There was some potential for new possibilities with two character puzzles, but the game never really took advantage of it except in the final stage, and that was very brief. And none of the levels were as stand out and memorable as the unfolding box level in the first game or the long areas with the block companion, the atmosphere never matched the descent into the dungeon, or met the same joy, and frustration, of dealing with the bird.
I don't want to give this a negative review, its too pretty and cheap for that, and it's fine as at atmospheric thing... but I notice many of the reviews are negative and have the same criticism, but they're giving it a pass anyway. I originalyl gave this a positive as well but.... it's just not as good as the first. I was looking forward to the third game, having immediatley fallen in love with this franchise... and now I'm not.
if you already played the first one this just doesn't offer anything interesting or new. Don't get it unless you LOVED the first, its overall a downgrade.
