Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - Lord of the Hunt
During the main campaign of Shadow of Mordor, Torvin asks Talion to join him on another hunt one day. Talion expresses interest in eventually rejoining Torvin, and that’s exactly what this DLC expansion is. It picks up with the two rejoined on a quest to combat the Beastmaster Warchiefs. Talion and Torvin have to utilize the beasts of Mordor and turn them against the Warchiefs in an effort to stop them.
- You get a new skin for Talion, which can even be used in the main story mode.
- You get more content involving Torvin, which is nice.
- The story is very minimal, but it’s decent enough.
- The new beasts are fairly underwhelming. They’re mostly just reskins with a couple changes.
- The continuity and chronology of this DLC is a bit messy. It’s supposed to take place sometime before the ending of the main story, yet it never explains Talion’s changed appearance and clothing.
- Fairly boring and repetitive. It’s just more of the same without any substantial additions.
- There’s very little content. It only takes about 3-4 hours to 100% this DLC.
- There are very few missions. Some of the DLC just uses Nemesis missions as filler as well.
- No new areas. This DLC entirely takes place in the Sea of Nurnen, which is an area in the base game.
- Your weapon runes do not carry over from the base game.
- $10 is too much for how little you get.
Lord of the Hunt is pretty underwhelming DLC. You get very little content, most of which is recycled. Play it if you already own it. If not, then just skip it.
